Al-Hamawi is pursuing higher studies in the Department of Culinary Arts Management at the University of North Alabama under the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Foreign Scholarship Program.
As a result of his success in the competition, the university's culinary department decided to add Saudi Kabsa and Moussaka dishes to its curriculum. Al-Hamawi's achievement is significant because he convinced the department to include Saudi cuisine in the international cuisine subject, thereby promoting Saudi food culture in the United States.
Al-Hamawi is considered an outstanding student in the field of culinary arts, which is one of the modern specializations aligned with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 initiative.
He had previously graduated from a Technical College in the Makkah region in the field of tourism and hospitality. Before pursuing higher studies in the US, he gained extensive culinary experience, particularly in hotels near the Grand Mosque in Makkah.
His training and achievements also received support from Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, the emir of Makkah and advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. Al-Hamawi's success highlights the efforts to promote Saudi culinary expertise and culture on an international stage.
