NCM issues red alert in Jeddah and 5 other governorates of Makkah from tonight

The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) in Saudi Arabia has issued a red alert for heavy rains and severe weather conditions in Jeddah and five other governorates in the Makkah region.

This alert is effective from midnight tonight until 1:00 pm on Wednesday. The affected governorates include Rabigh, Khulais, Al-Kamil, Al-Jamoum, and Bahra.

The forecast predicts heavy rains accompanied by high-speed winds, reduced visibility, hail, torrential flows, and thunderclaps. These weather fluctuations are expected to continue across most regions of Saudi Arabia until Thursday.

In addition to Jeddah, areas like Bahra, Rabigh, Khulais, Allaith, and Qunfudhah in the Makkah region will experience moderate to heavy rains on Tuesday and Wednesday. This rainy condition is likely to persist in various parts of Saudi Arabia until the middle of the following week.

The General Directorate of Civil Defense has advised the public to exercise extreme caution, avoid flood passages, water swamps, and valleys, and refrain from swimming in these areas due to the dangers posed.

They also recommend adhering to official instructions and alerts issued through various media outlets and social networking sites, as the chance of thunderstorms is high in most regions of Saudi Arabia until Thursday.
