Japanese FM briefs Egyptian counterpart on G7 discussions on Gaza crisis

A phone call between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt, Sameh Shokry, and his Japanese counterpart, Yoko Kamikawa. During the call, Minister Kamikawa briefed Minister Shokry on the discussions that took place in the G7 Ministerial Meeting on the Gaza crisis, providing an overview of the discussions.

Minister Kamikawa also conveyed Japan's stance on the crisis. In response, Minister Shokry emphasized the importance of international parties fulfilling their humanitarian and legal duties to halt Israeli attacks against Palestinian civilians and take firm stances against Israeli violations of human rights.

He stressed the need to end the bloodshed, particularly as a significant portion of the victims are women and children. Egypt also reiterated its rejection of any attempts to displace Gazans, internally or externally, and emphasized the importance of sufficient humanitarian aid entering the Gaza Strip.

Furthermore, Minister Kamikawa thanked Egypt for its role in mitigating the crisis's impact, delivering humanitarian aid to Gaza, and assisting in evacuating dual nationals.
