Inside a Royal’s extravagant former London home on sale for £19.5 million

A Prime Minister also spent a lot of time there

A stunning late Regency townhouse in Belgravia is up for sale - and it offers a lot more than just an incredible place to live.

The five story home, on sale for nearly £20 million, was leased by Lord Mountbatten – the Duke of Edinburgh’s uncle - to be used to store his antiques and as a place to host lavish parties.

Lord Mountbatten and his wife Countess Edwina Mountbatten lived in Wilton Crescent between 1959 to 1968, and during the 60s Mountbatten was so popular he needed extra space for entertaining, storing precious antiques and seeing friends - so he rented the place next door!

The house was also frequented by former Prime Minister Sir Henry Campbell while his brother lived there in the early 1900s.

Even without its illustrious former owners, the Grade II listed property is an incredible find, with its beautiful period features such as a marble fireplace in the dining room and sash windows overlooking the crescent.

You have to take a look at the listing to see how unbelievable the property is - but for now take a look at the pictures below to get a taste of how the royals like to live.
