Emiratisation: Private companies reminded about December 31 deadline

The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) in the UAE has issued a reminder to private sector companies employing 50 or more workers about the December 31 deadline to meet the Emiratisation target for 2023.

This target involves a two percent annual growth in the employment of Emirati nationals in skilled jobs. Companies not meeting these targets by the deadline may face financial penalties.

The MoHRE highlighted that over 18,000 companies have already achieved their Emiratisation targets, leading to a significant increase in the number of citizens employed in the private sector. Currently, over 84,000 Emiratis work in this sector, with more than 54,000 joining in the last two years.

The ministry's inspection teams are actively monitoring compliance and are set to take legal action against any establishments found circumventing or violating the Emiratisation policies.

The ministry emphasized the importance of public-private partnerships in enhancing the role of the private sector in advancing Emiratisation plans. This partnership aims to increase the contribution of Emirati talent to the UAE's economic development, improving job stability and career advancement for nationals in the private sector.
