Dubai Airports to welcome over 86mn passengers in 2023, surpassing pre-pandemic peaks

Dubai International (DXB) is set to surpass pre-pandemic passenger levels in 2023, expecting to welcome 86.8 million passengers, a significant increase from 2019 figures.

This growth is attributed to strong performance throughout the year, with average monthly traffic matching pre-pandemic levels.

Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai Airports, remains optimistic about the future, as the airport plans to expand its capacity from 100 million to 120 million passengers annually. India, Saudi Arabia, and the UK are the top countries in terms of passenger traffic, with significant contributions from cities like London, Riyadh, Mumbai, and Jeddah.

The airport's efficient baggage handling and quick passport control and security-check queues have contributed to its success. Additionally, cargo operations have shown growth, and flight movements are also on the rise, reflecting overall positive momentum for Dubai Airports.
